Chapel Services

Our weekly chapel services enables our children to worship with their peers through scriptural learning, praise in song, and prayer. Chapel is the place where we have a multi-age group celebration of our faith and teachings of the traditions as we walk through the church year together.

Three times a year, at Christmas, Easter and at the close of the school year, all Good Shepherd students, from the 2 year-olds through the middle school grades, have the opportunity to present their chapel songs in front of an audience of family and friends. The third, fourth and fifth graders combine song with choreography and story telling. By the time our students reach middle school they have been in front of an audience many times.

This year our chapel offering will be given to Heifer International. In 2007, Heifer had 867 active projects in 53 countries/provinces and 28 U.S. states. Heifer projects around the world help families achieve self-reliance through the gift of livestock and training. Gifts are passed from recipient to recipient until entire communities are transformed.

Chapel Performances

Three times a year, at Christmas, Easter and at the close of the school year, all Good Shepherd children, from 2 years to fifth grade, have the opportunity to present their chapel songs in front of an audience of family and friends. The third, fourth and fifth graders combine song with dance and story telling. This is not only a fun and proud experience but also the beginnings of public speaking. By the time our students reach the fifth grade they have been in front of an audience so often that they are comfortable. Their closing chapel is done with grace and poise.
